The all-new 2022 Kia EV6 crossover

The all-new 2022 Kia EV6 crossover ushers in the electric era as the brand’s first dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV). The arrival of the EV6 also marks the debut of Kia’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that will allow the brand to produce electric vehicles quicker and better across all segments from sedans, CUVs, and SUVs. This will help Kia meet its goal to deliver 11 all-new electrified models across the world by 2026.

The EV6 will be offered in five trim levels that will be available in rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations with varying tech, comfort, and convenience options. The first EV6 models are expected to go on sale in early 2022 in all 50 states with the GT arriving in late 2022.

The EV6 looks both sporty and futuristic

The EV6 looks both sporty and futuristic with ample space as it features the same 114.2-inch wheelbase as the Kia Telluride and compares with the width of a Ford Mustang Mach E and the wheelbase and ground clearance of a Tesla Model Y. The EV6 represents Kia’s new design philosophy called “Opposites United,” which draws its inspiration from the contrasts in nature and everyday life. Design highlights include Kia’s new tiger nose design, the “Digital Tiger” grille, and headlamps that offer a sequential dynamic light pattern.

The all-new EV6 offers impressive performance capabilities. The EV6 is available with two battery sizes: 58.0 kWh and 77.4 kWh. The horsepower and all-electric range varies depending on the drivetrain configuration with a maximum of up to 576 horsepower and an extended AER up to 310 miles. Choose from either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The charging capabilities of the EV6

The charging capabilities of the EV6 will let drivers power up faster and easier on the world’s first patented multi-charging system supporting 400v and 800v DC charging, which works on DC chargers with speeds ranging from 50kW to 350kW. This means that 800v DC fast charging from a 350-kW charger lets you add nearly 70 miles in less than five minutes and charge up to 210-miles, or 10-to-80 percent, in under 18 minutes.

With its innovative Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, the EV6 serves as a handy power source on wheels for anything from computers to electrical appliances and even recreational equipment. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) draws electricity from the battery to provide 1900 watts of power. Use the convenient 110V power outlet located in a socket on the front of the second row seat base. From a full charge, draw power from the EV6 for 36 or more consecutive hours.

Inside the 2022 Kia EV6

Inside, the 2022 Kia EV6 offers a sophisticated and environmentally friendly cabin with a convenient flat floor design that includes standard and available highlights such as extensive use of recycled plastic throughout interior, 100% vegan leather surfaces on some trims, 100% LED lighting inside and out, and space-saving and comfortable slim front seats.
